The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is using a helicopter to search for wanted suspects in the Patterson Ave area.
Just after 3:00 p.m. Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office released a statement that deputies, K9, and Air Support are searching for suspects that fled from a stolen vehicle in the area of Patterson/Cathedral Oaks and La Buena Tierra in the Goleta area.
Around 3:45 p.m. they asked residents to shelter in place for those in the area of Ribera Road, N. Patterson Ave, La Buena Tierra, and Avenida Pequena.
Not long after, they announced two suspects are in custody. Deputies continue to search the area for more suspects and called off the shelter in place warning.
This is a developing story.

- Helicopter over Patterson, what’s up?
- Sheriff searching for someone in Noleta
The SBSO has to keep the choppers in the air as much as possible to justify their expense. Don’t they have six at this point? If so, that’s amazing considering the size of their jurisdiction.
Big Billy Brown better order another three choppers to aid in the search.
