Semi-Truck Collision Sends Three to Hospital

A traffic collision between a semi-truck and sedan sent three people to the hospital in the Santa Maria Valley on Friday morning.

At 10:06 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters, a ground ambulance, and an air ambulance responded near Betteravia and Telephone Road. 

Firefighters discovered three patients, one requiring heavy extrication. Two patients sustained moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital while the third patient is still requiring extrication, said Captain Daniel Bertucelli.

The collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
