Source: Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue Team
[Tuesday] evening the team responded for a reported Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) activation. Initial reports placed the transmitter in the Goleta area and later was determined with high levels of confidence to be in the vicinity of the Santa Barbara Airport.
Teams found the beacon after a search of a hangar area in the NE corner of the airport. The aircraft with the accidental activation was a V-Tail Beechcraft Bonanza. The ELT was deactivated, owner notified and teams returned to the station.
SBCSAR is tasked with ELT searches in Santa Barbara County and has located numerous downed aircraft and accidental activations over the years with use of receiving equipment.
OMG! No survivors located?
If it’s bad enough then it’s not a joke except to the sick mind that posted it…I see that my mentioning it earlier has already been downvoted 3 times, and upvoted once…See what I mean?
