If a disaster strikes are you ready? I’m not, never have nothing but I’m lucky have a couple great neighbors that would help me get out if I needed to go. Being stuck here at home I can always find a couple things to eat: canned goods, always keep an extra gallon of water around, have a cheap burner cell phone lights, batteries, radio’s, first aid stuff, the basics. No generator, or electric power source, none of the good stuff I would have if I had bucks but I’m OK with that there are other ways to communicate if I have to. I do have one thing I think is really neat it’s a small battery operated folding lamp I got from some catalog it costs me $15.00 takes 4 AAA batteries, it is very bright pretty much lights up the whole room. The batteries last a while too it was a great investment that 15 Bucks. I have scanners too, 5 of them in fact and one digital with the little I have I think I’d be OK.
Do you have all you need to survive a few days in a disaster? I think Progresso soup, though soup has salt is a good investment, it’s a great soup and can be found pretty cheap around town. I always get a lot of stuff in the beginning of the month then start to run out toward the middle of the month. When the Thomas fire knocked out the power it killed most of the food I had just bought then with the power going off and on I bought a bunch of Progresso soup and ramen. The combo pulled me through. I haven’t been to a restaurant for many years unless we’re talking fast food. That’s ok too just can’t afford to lose everything over and over again and keep buying more. Feel free to share what kind of tools you have to survive a Disaster or what you do to make it through any tips or products you use.
