Santa Barbara Police Department’s Animal Control has partnered with local non-profit “C.A.R.E.4Paws” to ensure a healthful and thriving pet community. This year, the Department awarded a $3000 grant to the non-profit to supplement necessary spay/neuter surgeries for Santa Barbara City dogs and cats in C.A.R.E.4Paws’ mobile veterinary clinic.
C.A.R.E.4Paws operates its clinic countywide, providing not only free spays/neuters but assistance with affordable veterinary care, vaccines, microchipping and more for low-income, senior and homeless pet owners. The organization also distributes pet food to families struggling financially and assists with services such as foster care, dog walking and grooming for pet owners who need temporary help.
“We are so grateful for the generous spay/neuter grant and our continued partnership with Santa Barbara City Animal Control,” says Isabelle Gullo, C.A.R.E.4Paws’ executive director and cofounder.” The funding will help C.A.R.E.4Paws as we work to reduce pet overpopulation and keep animals in their homes. Each and every spay and neuter surgery performed counts!”
