A Santa Maria Police Patrol Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of S. Broadway. The SMPD Special Enforcement Team joined the investigation and conducted a probation search of the drivers residence.
The Special Enforcement Team found 385 grams of suspected heroin, which has a street value of approximately $23,000.
Israel Garcia, a 38-year-old Santa Maria resident was booked into the Santa Barbara County jail for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales and violation of probation.
