Santa Maria Police Officers are seeking the public’s assistance with a hit and run investigation that occurred on January 16, 2021 at 1820 hours. The following is a summary of the incident: Case number SMPD21-0000546
On Saturday 01/16/2021 at approximately 1820 hours, a pedestrian was crossing Blosser Rd from east to west north of the intersection of Cook St. The pedestrian was struck in the number 2 SB lane of Blosser Rd by an unidentified vehicle. The pedestrian survived, however received major/ great bodily injuries. This vehicle then fled the scene southbound on Blosser Rd and turned eastbound onto Boone St. This was determined from witness statements, and video surveillance. This suspect vehicle was described by the witness as a dark color, older model, small “rounded” looking sedan. Broken components of the vehicle were located on scene. Vehicle should have damage to the front bumper area and a broken front light assembly.
