Santa Maria Man Arrested in Rape Investigation

Santa Maria Police Detectives make arrest in rape investigation.

The Santa Maria Police Department Detective Bureau has been conducting a rape investigation resulting in the identification of a suspect, Michael Santana, a 32 year old resident of Santa Maria. On December 18, 2018 an arrest warrant was granted and Santana was arrested at the Santa Maria Police Department. Santana was booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail on one count of PC 261(a)(3)-Rape.

Based on information obtained during the course of the investigation, SMPD Detectives believe there may be other victims. The Santa Maria Police Department is seeking any information related to the investigation or any additional witness(es) or victim(s).
