Some areas of Santa Barbara County received over five inches of rain from the recent storm.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flood advisory on Sunday afternoon for the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. NWS predicted some rainfall rates were expected to peak Sunday evening with a chance for thunderstorms. Rainfall rates between 0.50 and 0.75 inches per hour were especially expected in the Santa Ynez mountain range.
As of 11:00 a.m. Monday, rainfall rates ranged from 0.50 to 5.75 inches in a 48 hour period.
The meter at El Deseo Ranch off East Camino Cielo reports a total of 5.76 inches, the highest in the county, as San Marcos Pass followed behind with a reported 5.57 inches. Downtown Santa Barbara gauged 1.59 inches and the Goleta Fire Station near Lake Los Carneros reported 1.78 inches.
Light scattered showers are expected to move through the County for the rest of Monday as some areas will remain clear and sunny. Tuesday is expected to also remain clear and sunny until the evening when another storm moves through with rain into the early hours of Wednesday.
