Santa Barbara County Man Charged With Raping Three Women

District Attorney John T. Savrnoch announced that on November 28, 2023, Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office field a felony complaint charging Honorio Meliton-Fidal with the following counts:

As to the alleged sexual assault on Jane Doe 1 on January 23, 2023, the charges include Count 1: Rape of a Person Unable to Resist Due to an Intoxicating, Anesthetic, or Controlled Substance, in violation of P.C. § 261(a)(3), and Count 2: Rape of an Unconscious Person, in violation of P.C. § 261(a)(4).

As to the alleged sexual assault on Jane Doe 2 on February 26, 2023, the charges include forcible rape in violation of P.C. § 261(a)(2) and forcible sodomy in violation of P.C. § 286(c)(2)(A).

As for the alleged sexual assault on Jane Doe 3 on May 21, 2023, the defendant is charged with sexual penetration, in violation of P.C. § 289(d)(1).

The defendant was arraigned on November 29, 2023, and entered pleas of not guilty. The defendant is currently in custody at the Santa Barbara County Jail, with bail set at $100,000 dollars.

The Honorable Judge Thomas Adams has ordered that GPS be a term and condition of his bail, and has ordered that the defendant have no contact with the victims.

The case was assigned to Department 2 of the Santa Barbara Superior Court, presided by the Honorable Judge Pauline Maxwell. The next court date is December 7, 2023.
