Today, Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) announces that Contour Airlines will begin service from the “depart differently” airport starting on October 16, 2018. The regional carrier will offer daily nonstop flights to Oakland (OAK) and service to Las Vegas (LAS) in its 30-passenger ERJ-135 jet aircraft.
Contour will offer the unique combination of low fares and a premium passenger experience. Introductory pricing starts at $79 each way to Oakland and $59 each way to Las Vegas. The onboard product includes comfortable leather seating with expanded legroom in every row and complimentary beverage and snack service for all passengers. “Among local travelers, Las Vegas ranks high as a desirable direct flight destination as does Oakland, which is an excellent addition to SBA’s current service to the Bay Area. We are thrilled to have Contour Airlines join us at SBA,” said Airport Director Hazel Johns. Oakland Airport is celebrating the new service as well. “Contour Airlines has been a great addition the service in Oakland, and we’re thrilled that we finally have a direct connection to Santa Barbara,” said Bryant Francis, Airport Director for Oakland International Airport.
The routes introduce two new markets, Santa Barbara and Las Vegas, into Contour’s growing West Coast network. Within the past six months, Contour has also initiated service in Oakland, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Page, AZ, and Crescent City, CA. “We see an incredible opportunity in Santa Barbara to provide point-to-point service to these high-demand, short haul markets,” according to Matt Chaifetz, Chief Executive Officer of Contour. “Santa Barbara residents can now avoid a long and unpredictable drive to the Los Angeles-area gateways and fly from their convenient hometown airport.”
