Local residents and visitors to Santa Barbara are invited to show their gratitude to our nation’s Veterans by attending this year’s Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 9th. Sponsored by Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF), this year’s patriotic parade promises to be more exciting than ever, with WWII vehicles, re-enactors and heroes from all branches of the military, community groups, local businesses, marching bands and more.

Organizations you’ll see in the parade include the Santa Barbara Sheriff Pipe & Drum Corps, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 218, Sons of the American Revolution, U.S. Naval Sea Cadets, Santa Barbara Model A Ford Club, and 30th Space Wing Vandenberg AFB.

The parade, a free, star-spangled event you won’t soon forget, begins at 12 noon. It starts at the intersection of E. Sola and State and ends at the Carriage and Western Art Museum of Santa Barbara, 129 Castillo Street.

Afterwards, you are invited to join us at the 7th Annual Salute to Vets, a benefit raising money for local Veteran programs. It takes place from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Carriage and Western Art Museum of Santa Barbara, 129 Castillo Street. The Santa Barbara Veterans Foundation will host an afternoon complete with a BBQ lunch provided by Santa Barbara City Firefighters Association and The Middle Child Restaurant, live music by Teresa Russell, Pin-Up Girls Contest, vendor booths, silent auction, performance by La Boheme Professional Dance Group and military vehicles on display. Be sure to watch for the Condor Squadron flyover of vintage airplanes in the sky above the event venue at approximately 1:30 pm!

Entry fee will be $20 covers entrance, meal, and a drink. Entry for veterans and children under 12 is free; meal tickets are $10. Contact Jerry Farmer at (805) 350-2006 for more information.
