Rollover Traffic Collision Starts Brush Fire in Los Alamos

Santa Barbara County Firefighters extinguished a brush fire associated with a vehicle rollover near Los Alamos on Friday evening.

At 7:20 p.m., firefighters responded to an overturned vehicle on Highway 101 with downed powerlines and a 1/2 acre brush fire. 

The vehicle hit a telephone pole in the collision which caused a small brush fire that was quickly extinguished. One patient was transported to the hospital with injuries.

Less than 1,000 residents in the area were without power. 

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
