The intersection of Calle Real and Las Positas was closed due to a broken watermain on Sunday afternoon.

Around 2:15 p.m. emergency responders arrived in the area, near the Earl Warren Showgrounds, to find large cracks in the pavement supposedly caused by the water.

The intersection as well as the freeway onramps were closed for several hours while crews worked to fix the pavement.

The cause of the water main break has yet to be revealed.
