Riding the Heat Wave

Goleta in July.

Hot days and warm water.

All that’s missing from this perfect combination is surf.

But when you live here, you get used to the fact that summer is when you gotta drive a little further to get waves.

Or you just go to Costco and buy a SUP.

Or you just focus on your tan…

But maybe once a summer, if we’re lucky, a little south swell will sneak between the Channel Islands and drop a few waves on some random beaches.

Usually not much surf, mind you, but surf nonetheless.
