The National Weather Service has declared a Red Flag Warning in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday June 7, 2020 to 9:00 a.m. June 8, 2020 for the Santa Barbara County South Coast and Mountains for gusty north to northeast winds and low relative humidity.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Winds...North 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, except gusts up to 60 mph near Montecito Hills. Strongest this evening into the overnight hours.

Relative Humidity...Falling to 8-15 percent early Monday morning, except 20-30 percent for the south coast.

Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, conditions will be favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and property.
The Montecito Fire Department has increased staffing levels for the Red Flag Warning including two type VI patrols and one type III engine.
SCE has not yet identified any potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs that would impact the Montecito community.
