Boasting 170 tons of e-waste collected annually, the City of Santa Barbara’s biannual E-Waste Recycling Drop-off Event is one of the largest in all of California! We encourage all area residents and businesses to join us and properly dispose of their e-waste for FREE.

What qualifies for e-waste collection? The rule of thumb is if it runs on batteries or a power cord, and isn’t a large appliance, we can take it off your hands.
Most common items:
• Computers
• Laptops
• Components & accessories (CPU, monitor, keyboard, mice, cables, external hard drives, etc.)
• VCRs and DVD players
• Any kind of TV (CRT, plasma, LCD, LED, etc.)
• Stereos & accessories (speakers, cables)
• Small appliances
• All phones (mobile phones with batteries removed; landline phones plus cords)
Other items accepted include but aren’t limited to: vacuum cleaners, power tools, cameras, fax or copy machines, record players, power supplies, fans, and light fixtures (please remove bulbs).
We do not accept air conditioners, refrigerators, smoke detectors, batteries, large appliances, toner cartridges, fluorescent bulbs, or household hazardous waste at this event.
