Quarter-Acre Grass Fire Contained Near Santa Ynez

On Tuesday, Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a brush fire near Santa Ynez.

At 12:07 p.m. crews arrived in the 1500 block of Ranch Santa Ynez Road in Ballard and discovered a quarter-acre grass fire near a burn pile.

The forward progress of the fire was halted at 12:40 p.m. Units will remain on the scene to mop up.

There were no injuries or structures threatened. The cause is under investigation.
