  1. You make a good point, lots more outages are on the way. More and more people are now relying on home generators to take up the slack during the increasingly frequent outages. It’s kind of ironic that the push for “green” energy is resulting in a shift towards gasoline and diesel power generation at home.

  2. Some of the most fanatical Montecito “green” people have diesel generators because natural gas will be broken in an earthquake.
    The move to lithium battery packs is in response to this, but lithium battery production from mining to final product is a heavy polluter… it just happens overseas or out in the mine.
    A super inefficient way to power something like a CPAP in an emergency would be an inverter you can attach to the battery of your car/truck and no one cares about the inefficiency if a life is at stake
