Santa Barbara Police are searching for a suspect after a dispute escalated on Thursday afternoon.
Roger the Scanner Guy reported hearing a resident in the 1200 block of W. Micheltorena threatened a construction worker a vandalized his truck, according to police scanner traffic.
The incident began around 3:00 p.m. when police were called to the scene and believed the resident, a 56-year-old male, had barricaded himself inside his studio behind a home the contractor was working in.
Extensive police reinforcements, including a K-9 team, were deployed to the area with a search warrant.
The Santa Barbara Police Department states the suspect got into his vehicle and took action that resulted in an assault with a deadly weapon, as well as making criminal threats, reports KEYT News.
Officers spent hours outside the residence before making a lawful entry for an arrest but the suspect is believed to have walked down the hill on the lower area of Micheltorena.
The investigation is ongoing.
