Be on the lookout for a white Ford F350 City of Santa Barbara Public Works truck. The work truck was stolen on February 12, 2021 at approximately 4:30 A.M., in the 3600 block of State Street.
The vehicle was last seen southbound De La Vina according to the reporting party. Notable characteristics is the crane in the bed of the truck and the vehicle ID number on the back which reads: 2592.
The plate is CA Exempt 1457564. Attached, please find a photo of vehicle similar to the one stolen. The vehicle stolen has a light bar above the roof. Call Police at 805-882-8900 if found.
Has anyone noticed that every employee of the City of Santa Barbara is driving a new vehicle? Car, truck, tractor , mower, or whatever. Lots of money being spent every two or three years for replacements. Can anyone offer up a number that it costs the serfs to provide these vehicles?
Its due to California smog regulations. Diesel powered trucks and equipment have to be replaced with soot traps or filters and def tanks. That means all the other states get our used pollution vehicles. California contractors and cities have to replace everything
So funny because if the trucks were old, people would be on here complaining that the trucks are too old, and why dont they buy new trucks with all our tax money.
Oh, and I am sure its heading for Mexico and will never be seen again.
Live around here long enough and you have to realize most stolen vehicles head south….
Guess they needed a nice utility truck.
