Police Resources in the Funk Zone

 

The “Know Your Limit” program entails a police sergeant and four officers periodically visiting various drinking establishments in the early evening hours. Does this remove police officers from the streets since drunks require more police to protect them against themselves?

 

What do edhat readers think of this campaign?

 

There is no good reason why every drink poured in the bars, restaurants, tasting rooms and breweries should not have a special police tax placed on them so that the drunks pay for their own police protection. Why are local taxpayers paying for police protection that we do not receive?
