Thousands of people made their way downtown to enjoy this year’s Old Spanish Days Fiesta. It was truly an epic week, complete with colorful outfits, traditional dancing, and amazing food that brought together locals and visitors alike, and reminded all of us of the power of community and collaboration. Here’s a brief photo recap:
Thank goodness this nuisance has ended for another year.
As a past Presidente of Old Spanish Days I am truly sorry for you all who are missing a wonderful five days where people get to spend time together with their families where children can have there own parade for free where there is free nighttime entertainment at the court house and where you can eat wonderful home made food which suports over ninty non profit organizations. The word Fiesta means a party a time to gather in friendship. It makes Santa Barbra a wonderful city to live in.
I wholeheartedly agree with Garth! What a dirty nightmare this five day
Fiesta has become!
I get SO tired of complaints because SB throws itself a party. A few days out of the year is a good time to plan your vacation to go out of town. I’ve been doing this annual party since 1946 and still love it.
Forgot to say, beautiful photos. Thank you for posting them.
I’m sorry but isn’t complaining about the complaints just another version of the pot calling the kettle black? Not everyone has positive views of large crowds of boisterous partiers. You like ’em, others may not. But that doesn’t make your view more acceptable. Please be respectful of all views not just those you agree with.
I’m with you on this Flicka! If you want to whine and moan about Fiesta, get out of Dodge for a few days. I’m looking at you Garth…..
Wow SacJon, you’re very defense about the horrid nightmare we locals have to endure every year, AKA Fiesta. Would a curtailment of Fiesta cut into your sale of cascarones during the parade?
Why would someone “down vote” this comment praising the beautiful photos? The anti-Fiesta folks are really showing their true colors…
Not “defensive” (the word I think you meant to type), just tired of hearing all the moaning about it. I’ve lived here since I was born and yeah, it got old and I just avoid it now. But really, complaining about it won’t make it go away. No one is going to cancel Fiesta, so adapt and figure out a way to be happy despite the “horrid nightmare.” Jeez…..
I used to complain about fiesta but this year I decided to join in on the fun and guess what?? I had fun! It’s way better than to sit around and complain 🙂
