Santa Barbara County Firefighters received a report of an aircraft down near Sisquoc on Friday morning.
At 7:45 a.m., crews responded to the intersection of Orcutt Garey Road and Foxen Canyon Road and discovered a helicopter had crashed.
The helicopter was spraying organic pesticide when it experienced a mechanical issue and came to rest in an agricultural field, according to the County Fire Department.
The pesticide tanks were empty prior to crash landing.
There was on occupant, the pilot, inside the helicopter at the time. They were not injured.
The incident is under investigation.
