Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Train

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Montecito on Saturday.

The incident took place near Sheffield Drive and Fernald Point Lane. A female victim was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders around 12:30 p.m.

  1. They said there was a loose dog in that area. Wonder if it was hers… I could speculate a little, and say that maybe she was trying to catch her dog when she was struck.
