Pedestrian Identified in Fatal Highway 1 Traffic Collision

The Sheriff Coroner’s Bureau is releasing the name of the pedestrian decedent from the traffic collision on January 13, 2024 on Highway 135 at Highway 1 in Santa Maria.

The decedent is 57-year-old Lonell Oliver from Lompoc.


Pedestrian Killed in Highway 1 Traffic Collision

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 1 near Orcutt on Saturday.

At 5:02 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to southbound lanes of Highway 1, just south of Highway 135.

Crews discovered an adult male was struck by a sedan and was pronounced dead at the scene. The solo male driver of the sedan was uninjured.

California Highway Patrol closed the number two lane and will be investigating this incident.
