With mother nature throwing embers 2 miles ahead, if the fire had been driven through Painted Cave by the wind, nobody could have done anything about it. Remember, the big tankers couldn’t fly that night. Painted Cave must have been off of the main path of the fire from the start.
Well it didn’t go into painted cave so there’s that
It is inconceivable what the Painted Cave Volunteer Fire Dept Chief & Co has done to that community. How dare they?! And how is any of it legal? Do we know how this fire began yet? Makes you wonder…
PSTARSR – Um is that not what I said? SB COUNTY had helicopters come in. I guess I should have added a “ but” at the beginning of the sentence. Yes the Ember Team fought on the ground, but SB County aided with air support. Your condescending remarks are unnecessary as are your quotes around protection, ember team and wetting in your original post. Are you implying the Ember Team members are just pretending to be firefighters?
I’m not a fireman but as I understand it wildfire direction can turn and roar in another direction if the wind changes and is strong, and also the fire adds its own ‘conditions’ that speed it up, a venturii effect like a bellows at a blacksmith shop. Someone correct me if that isn’t so, please.
The timing and location of this fire is highly suspicious. Predicted high winds and super dry brush. With rain on the way there was just enough time to do some serious damage but not to rage for long and unlikely to go into the city. Point of origin not far from the Painted Cave Community… All firefighting equipment purged by an angry former resident. Has anyone stated how this fire started?
