Greg Kirby, the owner of “Replay” on De La Vina Street, has passed away and his family is opening the store one last time for a final sale this weekend.

According to a note on the door, all proceeds will go towards funeral costs.

“Thank you to the entire Santa Barbara community for your years of support and patronage,” the sign reads. “Unfortunately, the heart and soul of Replay, Greg Kirby, has passed away.”

His children plan to keep the used toy and collectible store open this weekend only for a final (cash or Venmo only) closing sale in his honor.

“We invite you to stop by and share your memories and stories of Greg to celebrate his life,” the sign reads.

Replay has been open since February 2003.

Announcements of the store’s closing has brought out heartwarming tributes on social media.

“Awe man, I’m loved that guy and that place! He’d always be so helpful and loved it when I’d bring my kids in there and we’d leave with no less than 10 packs of unopened baseball cards. My heart goes out to his family,” one person wrote.

The majority of people commented on Kirby’s kindness and knack for giving discounts on just about everything.

“Greg created and kept a very special place to take our little ones to explore a treasure chest of surprise and delight for what seems like 20 years. My daughter and I built many toy collections from what we’d find there. I was always blown away by his dedication and sincere love of toys. Much loved in our community,” another local wrote.
