Overnight Closures at Olive Mill Road

Source: Caltrans

A project to replace the bridge rails on the US Highway 101 Overcrossing at Olive Mill Road which were damaged during the Montecito flooding last January will continue with overnight full highway closures this week to allow for the removal of the wooden support structure underneath the existing bridge.

  • Northbound US Highway 101 will be fully closed on Wednesday, Jan. 23 and Southbound US Highway 101 will be fully closed on Thursday, Jan. 24 during the overnight hours from 10 pm until 5 am.  Motorists headed in each direction may detour by using Coast Village Road between Hot Springs Road and Olive Mill Road to reach US 101.

The contractor for this $1.2 million project is Granite Construction of Santa Barbara, CA.  This project is expected to be completed following the final installation of guardrail by early February, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
