Olive Mill Underpass in 2018 and 2024

Cars with golden headlights on a muddy and rainy Highway 101 under the Olive Mill Rd. overpass, in Montecito on February 5th at dusk — just South of Santa Barbara.
This same area was under massive amounts of sludge and debris in 2018 because of the Montecito mudflow, which killed 23 people; Cal Trans has continued Highway improvements ever since.
During this storm there has been some hydroplaning of vehicles, but the safety measures in place this time kept the active roadways relatively clear and open.
