Old Spanish Days, the annual festival rooted in the cultural heritage of Santa Barbara, is set to host “La Primavera 2024,” an official Fiesta event that promises an evening of festivity, fundraising, and timeless traditions.
“La Primavera” holds a significant place in the festival’s calendar as a special fundraising event dedicated to supporting the continuation of beloved free community events such as La Fiesta Pequeña, Las Noches de Ronda, and El Desfile Histórico (the historic Fiesta Parade). Funds raised from the event will play a crucial role in preserving and perpetuating these cherished traditions that bring the Santa Barbara community together year after year.
As per the festival’s tradition, attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest Fiesta attire, embracing the lively and colorful spirit that embodies Old Spanish Days. With a rich history steeped in the cultural tapestry of Santa Barbara, “La Primavera 2024” is poised to be an evening of lively celebrations, meaningful fundraising, and a tribute to the traditions that unite and enrich the Santa Barbara community.
The event, scheduled to take place at the El Paseo on Saturday, May 11, will feature a vibrant program aimed at celebrating the spirit of Fiesta while raising essential funds for community events.
La Primavera will commence with a Cocktail Hour and Silent Auction, offering attendees the opportunity to savor tasty drinks and appetizers as they peruse a captivating array of silent auction items. The atmosphere will be enhanced by the melodic sounds of Tony Ybarra, creating a delightful ambiance for the evening’s festivities.
Following the Cocktail Hour, the evening will transition into a delightful Dinner & Live Auction segment, where guests will indulge in a sumptuous dinner while being treated to the inaugural dance by the Spirit and Junior Spirit of Fiesta. Additionally, the highly anticipated poster for the 2024 Fiesta will be unveiled. The live auction will kick off amidst the joyous celebrations, presenting attendees with the opportunity to participate in a spirited bidding process for a good cause.
The merriment will continue into the night with “Dancing with Friends,” where DJ Adam Herrera will take requests and keep the dance floor alive, ensuring that guests can revel in the joyous rhythms and celebrate the occasion in true Fiesta spirit.
