I live about a mile from Oak Park, and had to close my windows on this beautiful Sunday because of the insanely loud music coming from the park. Is there a restriction on the volume? It seems to be excessive.

That’s how our Diplomats were driven out of Cuba. lol
We live on San Pascual St. About every 4-6 wks the house on the corner throws a Sat. night party, complete with a prota-potty on the grass strip between the curb and sidewalk (wonder about the legality of that). They always have a PA System, and announcer, amplified Mariachi band with lots of brass. We live half way down the block and with our windows and doors closed they drown out our TV. The usually start about 5 PM and never stops until after 10 PM. I always call the police, sometimes twice. It’s as if the police don’t respond until after 10 PM, if at all.
It wasn’t coming from Oak Park, not sure why you think it was. If you’re a mile away and clearly didn’t check , there are several locations it could have been coming from?!
It’s a regular event held at Earl Warren Showgrounds.
Try contacting your representative Oscar Gutierrez. He has been helpful in other matters like this.
I only call the Police, if the band is crappy.
Jeez peeple, y’all sure get your pink frillies in a wad when folks just want to have a little fun on a Saturday evening. You got all week to have your peace and quiet just the way you want it, except for the few who have the inconvenience of being in the flight path of airplanes or other flying craft. So why not chill out and let folks let their hair down once or twice a year. Neighbourliness also means letting go of and accepting some of the little things that happen in your community that bug you on occasion. Y’all sound like a bunch of entitled princesses.
It was earl warren show grounds
I used live by this asshole that would blow a conch all day and call the cops on me falsely accusing me of shit every week. He was the Antagonizer and was racketeering using the police to bully and harass me.
Me being Hispanic and him a Caucasian old man the police would eat up his bs act of being this innocent saint.
People can have fun at a lower volume. It’s selfish to inflict your noise on others.
635: The cops didn’t respond unless it was after 10pm because that’s when the noise ordinance kicks in. I’m surprised they didn’t tell you that when you called before 10. And yeah, loud music can be annoying, but we DO live in a city, and i think as a society we’ve mostly agreed that 10pm is a good time to tone it down, but anything earlier is just the price we pay for living amongst each-other.
I live directly across the street from Oak Park. There was Spanish music playing all weekend, like most Saturdays and Sundays in the park. It never bothers me, however on Saturday about 5PM I had to close my window to let my girlfriend take a nap, as it was quite loud. Not sure if OP is talking about a specific time, or if it was a different concert at Earl Warren, however this particular time in my opinion was a bit too much.
Did anyone actually call the police and report a noise violation? That seems the most effective course of action.
So incredibly loud and we are at least 5 miles away! I also thought it must be neighbors close by. Why so loud I wonder – WAY louder than any bowl concert, El Mercados or Noches de Ronda at least from our location near Foothill and Mission Canyon.
Music that is so loud even one mile away is dangerous to ears close up. This seems beyond irritation and crosses over to a public health issue for those attending the concert.
We hear it loud enough to be annoying and we’re near the top of Olive St. In the past, I have called the Sheriff’s Dept and the persons taking my call make sure to act like I’m the only one complaining.
A couple times I have noticed the volume being lowered not long after I call, so I’m assuming there must be quite a few people calling in. What’s truly obnoxious is the super loud guy babbling away on the p.a. system. No one needs to have their peace and quiet disturbed like that. I suggest talking with Limon and Hannah-Beth and getting this “fun” toned down once and for all. Just because Earl Warren Showgrounds is state property doesn’t mean we all have to suffer through such nonsense.
We have 5 senses: If it’s OK to force people to listen to excessively loud sounds/music, then it’s OK to force you to down habanero shots, endure the odor of a decomposing body & cesspool blown through your homes, watch videos of sadistic torture, endure ‘massage’ with Brillo pads for our entertainment on week-ends. Obviously that’s NOT permissible and neither is blasting your selection of sound at others. Your right to swing your arms stops well before they hit my body.
I live near an elementary school, and every day around noon it’s insanely noisy. What’s going on over there?!
Heard it loud and clear late Sunday afternoon in Mission Canyon. 1.38 miles from Earl Warren as the crow flies.
kinda lame that this is the most reasonable post in this thread and it gets 11 down votes. why? because you aren’t jumping on the bandwagon and whining about….*gasp*….MUSIC being played outdoors. FFS people! Get a grip on reality. It’s music. Do you really think the cops and sheriff need you calling and wanking about…music? If it’s past 10pm, then fine, otherwise you’re just being a bunch of wankers. Would you rather have pure freeway noise? I used to live there and that’s all i heard until someone in the region would play…music.
again, more logic being down voted because you aren’t agreeing with the whiners…seriously….
sound carries and amplifies. I live across town, west side and can hear the bowl concerts like it’s next door…but i don’t call the cops and cry about it…i enjoy it.
Yes, those things are all equal. Amazing logic you are using. I’m convinced now.
It’s amazing how everybody regardless of how far away they live could hear it “blaring.” We live in Carp and we had to close our windows it was so loud and it even hurt the puppy’s ears. So there!
