Here’s an email I received from the principal sent at 8:30 PM Wednesday:
Dear Families and Friends of Notre Dame School,
Thank you for your patience today. Father Cesar, Mr. Rodriguez, and I met with Lieutenant Morton this evening to discuss both the vandalism at school and flyer circulating on social media.
The police department is currently investigating both cases. They do not believe there is an immediate, credible threat to the school.
However, Father Cesar and I have decided to cancel school tomorrow until the police department finishes their investigation.
Parent teacher conferences will take place as scheduled on Friday.
School will resume as normal on Monday.

On Tuesday, it was reported by KEYT that a sign in front of Notre Dame School was shattered.
This morning, Wednesday, parents received a text message letting them know school would be canceled today but no other updates. Online there are flyers posted about the school and possible threats. On their Facebook page, it states school is closed and to keep them in your prayers.
What happened? What’s the real story? Does anyone have information on what else the flyer states?
What a shame. That was my high school. When we were seniors the girls could eat lunch on those front steps.
quite frankly, all crimes are hate crimes so I have always opposed that label. stop bashing the Catholic Church. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be outraged at this very terrible & needless destruction of personal property.
This is a hate crime. Where is the outrage?
What’s the hate crime? Against Catholics? Hard to feel bad for an organization that continues to protect child molestors, discriminates against many, enslaved and killed people, embezzles money, etc etc etc
10:15am commenter – nope that is not the same as catholicism. You referenced a muslim/islamic school which is 1000% different. Muslims and islamic schools are not organized institutions like that of the dominating, corrupt, and overreaching Catholic Church. While there may be discrimination in some culture’s communities (just like there is in the united states and with americans) it’s very different than a powerful oppressive organization.
