Nicholas G. Uribe Sr. 67 passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Barbara on April 12, 2018. He was born on December 23,1950 to Librado and Consuelo Uribe. Nick was born and raised in Santa Barbara, where he lived his entire life. He attended Wilson Elementary School where he won the first Punt, Pass, Kick Award in 1961. He attended La Cumbre Junior High School and Santa Barbara High School where he met the love of his life Jan Guevara. They were married in 1969 and were happily married for almost 49 years.
Nick is survived by his wife Jan, daughter Lisa ‘Lee’ Uribe (Valorie) and his son Nicholas ‘Nick’ Uribe Jr (Cheryl) of San Diego. He is also survived by his sisters Jessie Velasquez (Gil) and Mary Graham (Roger). He is proceeded in death by siblings, Barbara, John, Raymond, Vincent. He had numerous nieces, nephews, 5 great nephews and niece, Christopher, Joshua, Zachary, Lucas, and Lacie, whom he considered as his grandchildren.
Nick worked at the Santa Barbara MTD as a bus driver for 43 years, and was well known throughout the community. Nick never met a stranger he didn’t like and enjoyed telling stories about his family and travels. Nick loved all of his family and was a honest, caring person who will be missed.
