Net Neutrality Concerns

By an edhat reader

With the expected upcoming repeal of Net Neutrality and in light of the fact that Cox, thanks to our city council, is a monopoly here, what do other Edhatters think about this?

Are you worried about getting told what you can and cannot see on the internet based on usage/throttling, or not being permitted to live stream without paying a higher price?

Will our new mayor do anything about Cox’s monopoly if net neutrality is repealed? Wondering what others are thinking or concerned about.

  1. Net Neutrality nor the City have nothing to do with Cox Communication’s monopoly. That has been around for many years and is controlled by CA state law.

  2. How would “Net Neutrality” be a corporate welfare give away? It basically is a Federal Court decision that the FCC can’t limit what the information service companies do with their services.

  3. Yes, there is a wealth of misinformation and ignorant, dimwitted, and dishonest Trumpkins like you are busy spreading it. Trump put in place the FCC’s corporate-owned majority in order to end net neutrality.

  4. Stop lying, you stupid piece of Trumpkin garbage. Of course the idea of ending net neutrality has been “going around”, but it’s actually going to happen under Trump’s corporate-owned FCC majority.
