Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that a juvenile petition has been filed in the Santa Maria Juvenile Court in connection with the January 20, 2010, shooting death of Isidro Madera. The male suspect was 17 years old at the time of the offense.
The felony petition alleges one count of murder, in violation of Penal Code section 187(a), and special allegations that include personal use of a firearm, infliction of great bodily injury, and that the offense was committed in association with and to benefit a criminal street gang.
Due to the confidentiality requirements of the juvenile court, the District Attorney cannot release further information at this time.
Arraignment is expected to occur on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 676(g), information regarding the arraignment may be obtained from the juvenile court.
