Multiple vehicle collisions due to hail or snow closed Highway 154 in both directions on Wednesday.
At 10:39 a.m., county firefighters and other surrounding emergency response agencies responded to Cold Spring Bridge on the San Marcos Pass for a report of multiple vehicle collision.
Crews were able to locate several vehicles that had collided on both sides of the bridge due to two inches of hail or snow, said County Fire Captain Daniel Bertucelli.
There was a total of eight vehicles involved with two minor injuries, one of those may have been transported to the hospital.
Highway 154 closed in both directions for crews to clean up the roadway and clear the hail/snow. As of 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, the roadway was reopened.
California Highway Patrol is investigating.

Description of Incident: Highway 154 is closed between State Route 192 in Santa Barbara and State Route 246 near Santa Ynez just following a multi-vehicle traffic incident on the Cold Springs Bridge on 154.
Estimated Time of Opening
