California Highway Patrol (CHP) is on the scene of a six-vehicle collision on Highway 101 near Turnpike.
The collision is in the northbound lanes, just north of the Turnpike onramp and just south of the Patterson offramp. All vehicles are on the right-hand side.
CHP is reporting no injuries and minor traffic congestion throughout the area.
New UCSB students cutting into the slow lane getting off at Patterson, just in order to get into the lane to head off to UCSB. Welcome back to way too many students!
It is Halloween week so get prepared for it to get even worse this week!
Way too many accidents on 101. Speed is usually a factor. The only way of curbing this slaughter is to drop the speed limit on 101 to 45 mph between Montecito and Winchester Canyon in Goleta, along with an increased police presence and steep fines. If that doesn’t work, speed bumps will. Things are only going to get worse. Also, virtually 100% of casino customers use 101 at some point to get there. When is the casino going to address this?
Santa Barbara drivers suck! Many are afraid to drive on the freeways and make it dangerous for everyone else. Total jerks.
I thought the rule was three car lengths. Did they change the rule or have I thought wrong for decades?
