Tuesday’s storm caused devastating mudflow that destroyed homes and washed debris into the Pacific Ocean.
On Wednesday, US Coast Guard MSD Pollution Responders worked with the Office of Spill Prevention and Response – OSPR and Smitty’s Towing to remove two cars that were washed into the ocean by the mudslides.
Approximately 73 structures were destroyed and 466 structures damaged with 17 fatalities and 8 people still missing, as of Thursday’s morning report.
