Many SB folks know about the “Flying A” building on the corner of Mission and Chapala, but this is something else.
A 1915 movie magazine featured a shot of the “Flying A” studio’s state-of-the-art property. According to Dana Driskel, of Film & Media Studies at UCSB, the white building with the dome in the background is still here, minus the dome. This was the administration building that also contained the camera and editorial departments, as well as the lab.
