Not only did the “Flying A” actresses have to provide their own costumes, it seems that they were also responsible for supplying animals as well. As Margarita Fischer was getting ready for her scene in a silent film, the director suddenly told her that she must have a cute pet for the filming, which would begin in an hour.
“As the hour was fast drawing to a close and Miss Fischer had about given up the search, she suddenly thought of a friend who lived near the . . . studio, and who was a great admirer of felines. A hurried trip to said friend brought the desired results . . . [the] kittens . . . posed before the camera with enough ease and grace to qualify them as professional performers.” – Motography, September 26, 1914
