Richard Bennett (born May 21, 1872) starred in the “Flying A” production of “Damaged Goods,” a film about the dangers of syphilis – an unusual subject for a silent movie in 1914. In addition to his career in silent and sound films, Bennett was father of three actresses: Constance Bennett, Barbara Bennett and Joan Bennett. His second wife, Adrienne Morrison, was also an actress and appeared in the film with him.
During the filming here, the whole family stayed at “Punta del Castillo,” the old Dibblee mansion on the Mesa where SBCC is today.
