Prize fighting was illegal in many places in the U.S. back in 1919, so it was easy to find audience members for the staging of this silent film.
“The American Film Company [‘Flying A’] is planning to stage a number of fast bouts for the benefit of the motion picture cameras . . . A large amphitheater to surround the ring is being constructed in the big glass studio . . . Ladies, as well as the men are included in the invitation.” The movie was “The Honey Bee.”
