Fatal motorcycle accident at El Colegio at Stadium Road in Isla Vista.
Thank You so much MOUNTAINMAN I was all mixed up with the scanner and everything else…I found the fatal notice on the chp site…
I don’t think you got anything mixed up, Roger. I thought I had misheard it, or combined calls until I saw your post. There was a lot going on at the time… one engine going instead of another, stabbings and stagings…. It’s a challenge to track. Thank you for all the work you do, Sir! It’s truly a monumental task.
All LE groups try to keep emergency radio traffic brief and responders don’t have to deal with 3 or 4 names for the same highway. Maybe you’d prefer calling 101, Screaming Eagles Highway and 154, Chumash Highway; aka El Camino Real and San Marcos Pass Rd. which could totally screw up response times in an emergency.
That’s for 9:54 am.
09:58. We say ‘the’ instead of “state route” or “highway” then the number.
You might. Rarely, I do, but usually just say the numbers of a roadway.
Somebody died and your arguing about grammar? Pathetic
“The 192?” How…modern. Do you mean East Valley Road?
Isn’t it just easier to call it East Valley Road, which is its given name? Whoever thinks of it as 192—or THE 192, which I find hysterical.
It’s actually ‘192’. there is no ‘the’.
Adding “the” in front of numbered highways is actually a regional dialect thing and is common elsewhere. Whatever keeps you smiling, 9:54.
