5:17 PM Tuesday. Vehicle Vs Motorcycle Accident
Traffic was down to only one lane for at least 45 minutes. This was due to an accident involving a motorcycle and at least two other vehicles on the SB 101 Freeway just north of Patterson Ave.
The motorcyclist appears to have been seriously injured and was transported to Cottage Hospital with lights and sirens.
Two vehicles involved had to be towed. All lanes opened back up just after 6:00 PM.
I was stopped on the freeway just after it happened. With all lanes stopped, these vehicles snaked their way by us:
Ambulance
CHP
Fire truck
Another CHP
The really long ladder truck
A fire commander SUV
When I finally got to the accident two vehicles were on the left shoulder, the motorcycle was down on the right shoulder, and the paramedics were stabilizing the rider on a gurney in the right lane readying him/her for transport.
Hopefully they recover without life changing injuries.
Do you know what type of motorcycle? Have a friend I can’t get ahold of.
I’m sorry, I don’t know what type. I’m not a motorcycle guy, and I also didn’t want to be a looky loo holding up traffic. I hope you can get in touch with your friend.
Thanks for the update S.G. I hope they fill-us-in with the status of the MC rider. Although, then, maybe, no news is good news which is very true quite often.
