Most Santa Barbara County schools plan to reopen on Tuesday after major storm caused school closure on Monday

Barring any significant changes, most schools across Santa Barbara County will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, following a one-day closure on Monday due to a major storm.

Community members should confirm with individual schools or districts on the status of a campus in their area as some schools may still be assessing damage from the storm.

County Superintendent of Schools Susan Salcido expressed gratitude for the collaborative support and care extended by our partner agencies throughout Santa Barbara County during this significant weather event. “We appreciate the many agencies that have worked closely together to keep our families and communities safe. Keeping schools open is always our priority and I sincerely look forward to all schools resuming tomorrow.”
