Here’s a video of the Moon occulting the planet Venus at 1:17 PM PST from Santa Barbara. The Moon was a thin waning crescent. Venus would have shown as gibbous but for the high altitude wind conditions making things wiggly. There’s a seagull UFO and some high wispy clouds blow through.
The Moon moved enough to uncover Venus by 2:27 PM, but it was below my local SW horizon by that time.
Venus was 138 million miles away at the time, on the other side of the Sun from us. The Moon was in the foreground at only 223,336 miles.
