Mission Colorization #40

By Joe DeLise

Circa 1885 photograph by W.J. Rea

I believe there was a “fundraiser” in 1886 to help with the upkeep of the Mission. Judging by today’s appearance, they succeeded BIG TIME!

Note the raised water chute bringing water into the lavanderia from the stone aqueduct towards the east side of the Mission.
