Minor Crash on Oak Park Lane

By Geo Duarte

On Sunday evening, a vehicle appearently quickly came around the corner of Junipero on to Oak Park Ln. striking the wheelwell of a parked blue Subaru.

Normally, most cars traveling around 25 miles per hour can come to a stop within 35 feet after any collision.  In this specific case, the rubber marks continued for about 96 feet.

It is unknown why the driver maintained a foot on the pedal.  Seemingly this incident  is not specifically isolated for any reason or suspected of any DUI offenses.

The parked Subaru which was struck, also was pushed into another vehicle, which may have very minor damage??  SBPD was investigating and was initially not aware as of to whom any additional involved vehicles belonged to.

SBPD interviewed the driver who stayed on scene and cooperated withe the initial investigation. Again, glad no other people were involved or injured. Stay aware Santa Barbara!
