“Mars Attacks!” Shown at Sunken Gardens Friday

By UCSB Arts & Lectures

Fri, July 21 | 8:30 PM | SB County Courthouse
Friday night under the stars!
Bring breathable blankets or a low chair, a picnic and your friends.

When a shiny silver flying saucer lands in the Nevada desert, a group of skull-faced Martians emerges and promptly vaporizes a gathering of unfortunate Earthlings, kicking off a bizarre high-tech war with wild special effects. This sci-fi spoof features an all-star cast including Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Rod Steiger, Sarah Jessica Parker, Annette Bening and Tom Jones. Don’t miss this hilarious frenzy as Tim Burton directs – and Mars attacks! (Tim Burton, 1996, PG-13, 120 min.)

  1. Highly recommended! Jack Black; Michael J. Fox; Lisa Marie; Martin Short; Jim Brown; and Joe Don Baker are some of the other highlights…
This is the one I was waiting for (have it on DVD as well), hoping to “Cheer” at all the appropriate spots!
